Alternative Petrol Lighters

Looking for an affordable refillable petrol lighter with the traditional flip-top design? Our Alternative Petrol Lighters collection gives you a choice of colours and finishes at a lower price than many premium branded lighters.

At Dancing Flame, we stock a huge selection of genuine Zippo lighters, but we understand that not everyone wants or needs to buy a genuine Zippo. Sometimes you simply want a practical petrol lighter for everyday use. You may want an inexpensive lighter that can be personalised, a gift for somebody, or several lighters for a club, group, wedding or event.

That’s why we’ve introduced our range of alternative petrol lighters.

Available in a changing selection of colours and finishes, these refillable lighters provide the familiar flip-top petrol lighter design while keeping the price affordable. Many can also be personalised using our in-house engraving service.

⚠️ Please Note – These Are Not Genuine Zippo Lighters

We want to make this completely clear from the outset.

The lighters in this category are not genuine Zippo lighters, they are not manufactured by Zippo and they should not be confused with genuine Zippo products.

They are sold as alternative petrol lighters for customers who like the traditional flip-top petrol lighter design but are looking for a more affordable option.

Dancing Flame also stocks a large selection of genuine Zippo lighters. If you specifically want a genuine Zippo, please choose from our genuine Zippo range instead.

We believe in being completely transparent about what we’re selling so you know exactly what you’re buying.

 Colours, Finishes & Product Appearance

A Choice of Colours and Finishes

One of the great things about our alternative petrol lighter range is the variety.

Rather than restricting the collection to one particular finish, we aim to offer a changing selection of different colours and styles.

Our range may change as different colours become available, new finishes are introduced or existing colours sell out. For that reason, the best way to see what’s currently available is simply to browse the products shown on this page.

You might prefer something bright and noticeable, something darker and more understated, or a more traditional metallic finish.

The choice of colours also makes these lighters particularly suitable for personalisation.

Choose a colour you like and then add your own engraving to create something individual.

An Important Note About the Colours in Our Photographs

Buying a coloured product online can sometimes be difficult because you’re looking at a photograph rather than holding the actual item in your hand.

We therefore make every reasonable effort to ensure that the colours shown in our photographs are as close a representation of the actual lighter colours as possible.

We do not deliberately enhance the colours of our product photographs to make a lighter look brighter, deeper, richer or more vibrant than it really is.

However, no photograph can guarantee a completely exact colour match.

Different mobile phones, tablets, laptops and computer monitors can reproduce colours differently. Your screen brightness, contrast and individual display settings can all affect what you see.

Lighting can also make a difference.

Some of our lighters have metallic, glossy or reflective finishes. These can naturally look lighter or darker depending on the lighting, reflections and the angle from which they’re viewed.

A lighter viewed in bright daylight may therefore appear slightly different when viewed indoors.

For these reasons, our photographs should be considered as close a representation of the actual colour as we can reasonably provide rather than an exact guaranteed colour match.

Our aim is to show the product honestly and realistically.

 Affordable Refillable Petrol Lighters

These are not disposable lighters designed to be thrown away once they’ve been used.

They are refillable petrol lighters, which means suitable lighter fuel can be added when required.

This gives you the traditional experience of a reusable petrol lighter while keeping the initial purchase price affordable.

Petrol lighters are supplied without fuel, so you’ll need to fill your lighter with suitable lighter fuel before using it.

Dancing Flame also stocks lighter fuel and accessories, allowing you to purchase what you need alongside your new lighter.

 A Lower-Cost Alternative

There are many reasons somebody might choose an alternative petrol lighter rather than a premium branded lighter.

Perhaps you want something for everyday use. Maybe you want a spare lighter. You could be looking for something inexpensive that can be personalised.

Perhaps you need several lighters for a club, wedding or group and don’t want the cost associated with purchasing several premium branded lighters.

Or maybe the brand simply isn’t important to you.

Our alternative petrol lighters give you that choice.

You can enjoy the traditional flip-top petrol lighter format without having to pay for a premium brand.

How Do These Compare With Genuine Zippo Lighters?

Because Dancing Flame is well known for selling genuine Zippo lighters, we think it’s important to explain the difference.

A genuine Zippo is manufactured by Zippo and carries the appropriate branding and markings. Zippo also has its own history, reputation and collectability.

The alternative petrol lighters on this page are not Zippos.

They should therefore not be purchased on the assumption that you’re getting a discounted or cheaper genuine Zippo.

You’re not.

You’re buying a different make of petrol lighter that offers a similar traditional flip-top format at a lower price.

For some customers, that’s exactly what they’re looking for.

For others, the Zippo name, history and collectability are important, in which case we’d recommend purchasing a genuine Zippo from our genuine range.

The two ranges simply give our customers more choice.

Personalised & Engraved Petrol Lighters

Ideal for Personalised Engraving

One of the biggest attractions of these alternative petrol lighters is personalisation.

At Dancing Flame, we have our own professional engraving equipment and carry out engraving ourselves.

Depending on the particular lighter and available engraving area, you can personalise your lighter with wording such as a name, initials, nickname, date or short message.

This can transform a relatively inexpensive lighter into a personal gift or keepsake.

A name can make it personal.

A date can commemorate an occasion.

A short message can turn it into something meaningful between two people.

And because the starting price of the lighter is lower than many premium alternatives, you don’t necessarily have to spend a fortune to create a personalised gift.

Personalised Gifts Without the Premium Price

We don’t believe a personalised gift needs to be expensive to mean something.

Often, it’s the personalisation that matters.

An engraved lighter carrying someone’s name, nickname or an important date has been created specifically for that person.

These lighters can therefore make excellent gifts for birthdays, Christmas, Father’s Day, anniversaries and other occasions.

They can also make a fun gift between friends.

Choose a colour or finish you think they’ll like and add your own engraving.

Simple, personal and affordable.

Engraving Can Look Different on Different Colours

It’s important to understand that different colours and surface finishes can produce different engraving results.

Engraving works by marking or removing part of the surface finish.

That means the final appearance depends partly on the colour and coating of the lighter.

The same engraving could appear bright and highly visible on one finish but more subtle on another.

That’s normal and is one of the characteristics of engraving coloured and coated products.

We don’t want to promise that the same design will look identical on every colour because that wouldn’t be realistic.

If you’re unsure about a particular colour or engraving idea, please contact Dancing Flame before ordering.

Please Check Your Personalisation

Personalised engraving is permanent.

Please therefore check everything carefully before completing your order.

Pay particular attention to names, dates, spelling, capital letters and punctuation.

We will normally engrave the information exactly as it has been supplied to us.

If you’ve accidentally entered the wrong date or misspelled a name, we may not know that it’s incorrect.

Once engraved, it can’t simply be erased and started again.

Personalised products also cannot normally be returned simply because you’ve changed your mind, as they have been permanently customised specifically for you.

This does not affect your statutory rights if there’s a fault with the product.

Petrol Lighters for Gifts, Clubs & Weddings

Great for Motorcycle Clubs and Groups

Alternative petrol lighters are particularly useful when you want several personalised lighters.

For example, motorcycle clubs and other groups may want matching or individually personalised lighters for members.

Buying a number of premium branded lighters can quickly become expensive.

An affordable alternative means you can potentially have several lighters engraved without the base cost becoming excessive.

You could choose the same colour and engraving for everyone or allow individual members to select different colours.

Each lighter could then be personalised with an individual name or nickname.

They’re not limited to motorcycle clubs either. Social clubs, groups of friends, organisations and other groups may all find them useful.

If you’re considering ordering a larger quantity, contact Dancing Flame to discuss what you need.

 Alternative Petrol Lighters for Weddings

An engraved lighter can also make an unusual wedding keepsake.

You could personalise lighters for the groom, best man, father of the bride, father of the groom, ushers or other members of the wedding party.

Add a name and wedding date and you’ve created a small reminder of the day.

Because these alternative petrol lighters are more affordable than premium branded models, they’re particularly useful when you need several.

Different people can even have different colours while keeping the engraving consistent.

 An Affordable Everyday Petrol Lighter

Not every lighter needs to be expensive or collectable.

Sometimes you simply want a lighter you can put in your pocket and use.

That’s where an affordable alternative can make a lot of sense.

If you own an expensive or collectable lighter, you may not want to carry it around every day where it could get scratched, marked or lost.

An alternative petrol lighter can become your everyday lighter instead.

You still have the traditional refillable petrol lighter format, but you may feel more comfortable actually using it.

 New to Refillable Petrol Lighters?

These can also be a good choice if you’ve never owned a refillable petrol lighter before.

You may like the traditional flip-top design but aren’t sure whether you want to spend significantly more on a premium branded model.

An affordable alternative gives you the opportunity to try this style of lighter without a large initial outlay.

If you later decide that you’d prefer a genuine Zippo, Dancing Flame has a huge selection available.

Alternative Petrol Lighters or Genuine Zippo?

We don’t want there to be any confusion between the two ranges.

Dancing Flame specialises in genuine Zippo lighters, and we stock a large and varied selection.

Our genuine Zippo collection includes traditional plain finishes, coloured Zippos, themed designs, unusual models, collectable lighters and Zippos suitable for personalised engraving.

We also source unusual and harder-to-find Zippos.

If the Zippo brand, history and collectability are important to you, we’d recommend looking at our genuine Zippo collection.

Our Alternative Petrol Lighters simply provide another option for customers whose main priorities are affordability, colour choice and personalisation.

Alternative Petrol Lighters = affordable, refillable and available in different colours and finishes.

Genuine Zippo Lighters = genuine branded Zippo products for customers who specifically want the real thing.

 Why Buy From Dancing Flame?

 We Hold Our Own Stock

One of the things we’re proud of at Dancing Flame is that we actually hold our stock.

We’re not a dropshipping operation where an order is automatically passed to an unknown overseas supplier after you’ve paid.

The lighters we sell are held by us.

We also inspect our lighters before dispatch.

When you choose personalised engraving, that work is carried out by us using our own engraving equipment.

This gives us much greater control over the products and personalisation we supply.

 Tracked UK Delivery

Orders are dispatched using tracked Royal Mail services, giving you the ability to follow your order once it’s on its way.

We also offer free UK delivery on qualifying orders over £40.

That means you can combine your lighter with fuel, accessories, another lighter or other products available from Dancing Flame.

 Our Range Can Change

Our Alternative Petrol Lighters collection isn’t restricted to a fixed number of colours or designs.

We may add new colours.

Some colours may sell out.

Different finishes may become available.

And we may introduce entirely new styles of alternative petrol lighter in the future.

That’s why we don’t advertise this collection as having a specific number of colours.

The products displayed in the category represent the selection currently available to order.

It’s worth checking back because you may find something new.
